Biographies - Cindi Cardwell, M.ED., L.P.C., N.C.C. Counseling helps you improve your emotional health by working through your personal problems. Life happens and sometimes we just need someone to help guide us out of the depth of anger, sadness, depression or anxiety. Sometimes we are "burned out" from all of the care-taking of everyone and everything. I use a biopsychosocial model, which states that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are a result of biological, psychological and social influences. My passion is to help you discover your own truths and insights in order for you to achieve greater professional and personal effectiveness. In order to heal your heart and mind, it is important that we both feel comfortable with each other. Trust and good communication are vital parts of the healing relationship. If you or I think it is in your best interest to work with another counselor, I will help refer you to another therapist. I provide therapy to adult individuals, groups and couples. My experience includes addiction recovery and support, divorce, sexual compulsivity, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, co-dependency, stress management, life transition issues, grief issues, survivors of childhood incest and abuse, chronic pain or illness, terminal illness, spiritual crisis, post traumatic stress disorder, trauma resolution, divorce recovery, and relationship problems. I use a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques and am an EMDR therapist. I hold a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from Texas Tech University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and National Board of Certified Counselors, Association for Humanistic Psychology, and the American Psychotherapy Association.
